How long does it take? Delivering a route takes about 1 hour.
Can I involve my children? Yes! Our clients love to see kids.
Do I have to be available every day? No. You can schedule your time weekly, monthly or on a substitute basis.
Do I need a car? Yes. If you don’t have a car, volunteer with a friend or co-worker that does. It is more fun to volunteer with a friend. One person drives and the other person navigates the route.
Do I need insurance? Yes. All volunteer drivers must provide proof of insurance.
Will I drive the same route every time I volunteer? Most volunteers do drive the same route on the same day of the week, once or twice per month. But some volunteers enjoy learning new routes on an as needed basis.
How do I become a Meals On Wheels volunteer? Call Susan, our volunteer coordinator, and she will send you a volunteer packet and get you started on your way.
