Volunteer Checklist

Arrive at the pick-up site between 11:10 - 11:25 a.m. Please call 451-7011 if you are going to arrive late.

When a client does not answer the door, always call 451-7011 and identify yourself as a “volunteer on a route”. We will then call the client to determine if they are home.If they are not at home we will ask you to return the meal to the kitchen.Read over the route sheet before leaving the pick-up site. Be sure to take note of new clients, special instructions, and attachments.

NEVER leave a client’s meal on their front porch or on their kitchen table if they are not at home. Failure to maintain proper meal temperature endangers the clients’ health and is a violation of federal requirements.

Confidentiality is vital. Any questions or concerns about clients on your route should be
addressed to the staff at the Meals On Wheels office. (920) 451-7011.

When you need a substitute for your route, please inform Meals On Wheels at least
24 hours in advance. Any route cancellations that are reported after 9 a.m., on the day
of your delivery, are extremely difficult to cover.
